I have the honor to forward,
for Your Lordship's information, Copies of Correspondence which has passed.
regarding the appointment of a Superintendent of Police in this Colony, and showing the urgent duties
which he and his Establishment must be immediately employed.
It is utterly impossible
that the Chief Magistrate or his Assistant
can devote their time and attention to those duties, and I see no other
